Last updated: 4 June 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Alegria Partners ("Alegria", "we", "us" or "our") collects, uses, shares and protects personal data when you visit this website (the "Site") or contact us, and the rights you have over your personal data. We are committed to handling personal data in accordance with the EU General Data Protection Regulation (the "GDPR"), the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, and the Brazilian General Data Protection Law (Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados, Law No 13.709/2018) (the "LGPD").
1. Who we are
Alegria Partners is the controller responsible for your personal data. You can contact us about this policy or any data protection matter at info@alegria.partners.
2. The personal data we collect
Information you provide
When you complete our contact form or email us, we collect the information you choose to give us. This typically includes your name, email address, organisation (if you provide it), the subject you select and the contents of your message.
Information we collect automatically
With your consent, we collect analytics information about how you use the Site through cookies and similar technologies (see Cookies and analytics below). Our hosting and security providers may also process limited technical data, such as your IP address and browser type, in server logs to keep the Site secure and available. We do not intentionally collect special category data (such as data revealing health, race or religion) and ask that you do not send it to us.
3. How we use your data and our legal bases
We use personal data for the following purposes, relying on the legal bases shown:
- To respond to your enquiry and correspond with you. Legal basis: our legitimate interests in dealing with enquiries and running our business (GDPR and UK GDPR Article 6(1)(f)); under the LGPD, our legitimate interest or steps taken at your request.
- To send you information you have asked for or, where you opt in, updates about opportunities. Legal basis: your consent (GDPR and UK GDPR Article 6(1)(a); LGPD Article 7, I). You can withdraw consent at any time.
- To measure and improve how the Site performs using analytics. Legal basis: your consent, given through our cookie banner.
- To keep the Site secure and to comply with our legal obligations. Legal basis: our legitimate interests and compliance with a legal obligation (GDPR and UK GDPR Article 6(1)(c)).
4. Cookies and analytics
Cookies are small files placed on your device. We use:
- Essential cookies, which are necessary for the Site to function and are always active.
- Analytics cookies, through Google Analytics (a service provided by Google), which help us understand how visitors use the Site. These are only set if you select "Accept all" in our cookie banner. If you select "Reject non-essential", no analytics cookies are set.
Where Google Analytics is used, Google processes the data on our behalf and we enable IP anonymisation where available. Google may transfer and process data outside your country. You can withdraw your consent at any time by clearing cookies in your browser. For more information, see Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
5. Sharing your data
We do not sell your personal data. We share it only with: service providers who process data on our behalf (for example our website hosting, email and analytics providers), under contracts that require them to protect it; our professional advisers; and authorities or other parties where we are required to do so by law or to protect our rights.
6. International transfers
We operate across Brazil, the United Kingdom and the European Union, and your personal data may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your own, including Brazil. Where we transfer personal data outside the United Kingdom or the European Economic Area, we put in place appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or the relevant Standard Contractual Clauses, so that your data remains protected. A copy of the relevant safeguard is available on request.
7. How long we keep your data
We keep personal data only for as long as necessary for the purposes set out in this policy. Enquiry correspondence is generally kept for up to 24 months after our last contact, unless a longer period is needed to comply with the law or to establish, exercise or defend legal claims, after which it is deleted or anonymised.
8. Your rights
Under the GDPR and UK GDPR
You have the right to access your personal data; to have it corrected or erased; to restrict or object to its processing; to data portability; to withdraw consent at any time; and not to be subject to decisions based solely on automated processing. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. In the United Kingdom this is the Information Commissioner's Office (ico.org.uk); in the European Union it is your local data protection authority.
Under the LGPD
You have the right to confirmation that we process your data; access to it; correction of incomplete, inaccurate or out-of-date data; anonymisation, blocking or deletion of unnecessary or excessive data or data processed unlawfully; data portability; deletion of data processed on the basis of your consent; information about the entities with which we share your data; information about the consequences of refusing consent; and to withdraw your consent. You may also complain to the Brazilian National Data Protection Authority (ANPD).
To exercise any of these rights, email us at info@alegria.partners. We will respond within the time limits set by the applicable law.
9. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect personal data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. Children
The Site is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it.
11. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always shown on this page, with the date it was last updated at the top.
12. Governing law
This policy and any dispute arising from it are governed by the laws of England and Wales, without prejudice to any mandatory data protection rights you have under the GDPR, the UK GDPR or the LGPD.
13. Contact us
